State Accounting Office Rebranding

I joined the State Accounting Office in 2021 and inherited a brand that was created more than 20 years prior and never revisited. The only logo files were small and pixelated and the only available brand guidance was screenshots of a very brown and dated color palette and a 4:3 scale PowerPoint template that severely dated the organization.

I was excited to bring this team into the present with a refreshed palette, new logo and dynamic and user-friendly templates. While modernizing these elements, it was important to provide an updated identity but maintain an air of authority that conveyed knowledge, trust and guidance, as this state agency is responsible for guiding Georgia’s accounting policies and procedures.

CREATING THE GA@WORK BRAND

Working on Georgia’s NextGen Project to implement a new enterprise resource planning system was one of the more unique engagements I’ve been part of. I was responsible for leading the project’s Organizational Change Management Team, and part of that was branding the new system. This was a great challenge being on the ground floor when building a brand from scratch. The state hired a creative agency to help us with naming, market research and focus groups with oversight from a branding committee of state communications and marketing personnel.

While the agency provided the name and logo, we still needed direction on what the brand represented and a branding guide to help build the brand’s foundation.

Included here are several GA@WORK branded materials I created, the GA@WORK Branding Guide and representations of how the brand blossomed into a familiar name across the state’s 200+ agencies.

The project team also created a group of system super users who were trained as system experts in each agency. I designed the GA@WORK Super User Program logo, email signature graphic, Outlook photo overlay and certificate template.

United way of greater Atlanta

On an engagement with the United Way of Greater Atlanta, I designed several marketing documents including a 4-panel Z-fold brochure for the Opportunity Youth program, a document promoting the YouthWorks and Opportunity Youth initiatives, and an executive summary.

Division of aging services

During my time with the Georgia Department of Human Services, I created many materials for the Division of Aging Services, including conference materials, brochures, posters and digital content.
